Ready for a winter challenge full of elevation gain, impressive panoramic views, and a touch of mining history?

On Sunday, December 13, the Besox Mining Tour is back on the schedule. Expect a day filled with nature, spectacular slag heaps, a lively atmosphere, and delicious local treats.

Whether you choose the 15, 20, or 30 km route, you can expect an adventurous course with plenty of elevation gain. The longer the distance, the more challenging the route.

Participants in the 15 km race will head from Beringen to Heusden-Zolder through the forests of Stal and Korspel, with a first glimpse of the Beringen mine slag heap along the way.

The 20 km and 30 km routes take it a step further. Both routes take you to the top of the Avonturenberg, the Beringen mine slag heap, and the Heusden-Zolder mine slag heap. Together, they offer about 300 meters of elevation gain and a unique trail experience through the former mining area.
