Become a miner for a day during the Mining Sundays in Beringen

What was a miner’s typical workday like? During the “Mining Sundays,” you’ll discover the story behind “black gold” and get a unique behind-the-scenes look at the historic Beringen mine site.

Accompanied by a guide, you’ll visit places that are normally off-limits. Walk through the bathhouse where miners washed each other’s backs after their shifts, discover where their work clothes hung to dry, and take a look inside the impressive hoisting machine building, the headframes, and the iconic water tower.

To wrap up the tour, you’ll head down to our underground simulation in the basement. There, guides who once worked in the mine themselves bring their personal stories to life. Their memories make this tour extra special.
